We were happy to start our Easter weekend off by learning something new…Pysanky!
Pysanky is a Ukrainian Easter Egg decorated with traditional Ukrainian designs. We made a few traditional designs, and also a bit of our own!
An interesting fact, “Pysanka” comes from the verb “pysaty”, which means “to write”. The designs on the eggs are not painted on, rather written on with beeswax.
We truly had a great time learning this beautiful Ukrainian tradition with Liz Lott at “The Farm” (local North Bay store) and hope to make it part of our Easter traditions in the future.
We wish everyone a Happy Easter weekend!
